Impactions solved in minutes instead of costly admission and surgery!

Example of one of many huge fecal impactions that was solved with PIE* Therapy.

Bowel impactions can be so critical that traditionally the patient is admitted into the hospital to solve a life-threatening condition. The average patient stay is 3-4 days with a hospital bill over $3,000.

Now with the portable PIE* System, the Physician or Nurse Practitioner can visit the patient in a nursing home or at their home and quickly solve the impaction.

Surgery was the only alternative before the miracle PIE* Therapy:

Many times, surgery is the only known alternative to the Physicians. The surgeon actually goes into the abdomen and cuts the colon allowing the physical removal of the dry hard fecal material. This is extremely expensive, approximately $12-15,000, plus being very dangerous as fecal bacteria is exposed into the abdomen.

The patient also must recover for several days in the hospital with unnecessary pain.

Now, even the most radical of bowel impactions can be resolved in 1-2 hours without surgery or any difficulty on the patient or physician.

Gross impactions can be removed very gently, without any exposure of harmful bacteria to anyone involved. The patient can be admitted overnight and impactions removed the next morning through the revolutionary PIE* Procedure. Simple pulsing water breaks up the largest of impactions. The PIE* System removes all of the fecal material quickly.

Let's comment more thoroughly on the patient shown above.

The dramatic photos were taken of one patient, the same day at:

University of Illinois Hospital, Chicago
Patient: 18 year old Hispanic male.
Patient History: Improper diet and suspected drug user.
Condition: Massive fecal impaction located in ascending, transverse and descending colon.
Method of Diagnosis: KUB
Recommended Treatment: Colon Resection.
Cost: Estimated well over $10,000.

Patient was scheduled for surgery:

The GI Department heard of the patient in the ER. Because the condition of the new patient was critical, a member of the GI Staff rushed to the attending physician to inform the physician of the new "*Pulsed Irrigation Evacuation" (PIE*) procedure being used in the GI Department. The open minded, yet skeptical, physician allowed to "try" the new alternate method.

The second picture graphically illustrates the success. The patient lost 40 pounds during the procedure. The patient walked from the ER within two hours after the beginning of the procedure.

The total bill was less than $500!

Similar successes have been repeatedly reported throughout the country. One institution has reported over four hundred successful cases.

Additional areas of impaction use:
The PIE* procedure is not only very effective with severe fecal impaction, it has been successfully used for barium impaction.
